Treating Eczema

Eczema is a skin condition which can affect the body and scalp and as with any type of dermatitis, it involves the inflammation of the skin. Depending on the specific type of eczema our Medical Dermatologists diagnose you as having, treatment can be followed using medicated creams, ointments - and in severe cases – tablets. As with any type of dermatitis applying the correct type of emollients on the whole body is a crucial part of treating the condition.

Our Medical Dermatologists will assess the severity of your eczema and isolate the specific type of dermatitis that needs treating. They will also discuss with you areas, such as your diet and daily lifestyle as a way to advise you of any changes that could be made to help alleviate the severity of your eczema. Sometimes these small changes in habit can go a long way to helping your skin repair itself.

Depending on the type of eczema there are a range of steroid creams that can be used for treatment, but Eudelo can also offer steroid-free anti-inflammatory creams to treat some type of eczema. For severe cases it may be recommended to try phototherapy (‘light treatment’) which can be help treat eczema.
