When good skin still looks tired: What’s actually going on

When good skin still looks tired: What’s actually going on

Let me share something you may not know about how our skin maintains its youthful appearance. It’s not just about what’s happening on the surface – there are actually different layers working together to keep your skin looking fresh and healthy.

As we get older, the visible signs of ageing, including lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of facial volume, are symptoms of complex changes occurring in the skin. These changes affect all three layers of our skin, from the surface (the epidermis) to the infamous middle layer (the dermis, where our collagen and elastin live), down to the deepest layer, the fat tissue (so-called subcutis).

In the dermis, collagen and elastin fibres degrade as we age, leading to reduced firmness, elasticity, and overall skin quality. The dermis is often seen as the holy grail of ageing targeting treatments, as it’s kind of the ‘back-bone’ of our skin. However, the adipose tissue (fat layer) beneath the dermis undergoes equally significant transformations as we get older, with tissue degeneration, as well as deflation and repositioning of fat pads, amongst other changes. This leads to descending facial features, hollowed cheeks, sagging jawlines, and a general loss of youthful facial contours.

So, as you can appreciate, the age-related changes in the subcutis are really quite important … only that the subcutis does not enjoy the dermis’ celebrity status and is sadly often ignored when regenerative treatments are devised and planned. Not any longer! Here at Eudelo, we have put together a regenerative treatment package that puts the subcutaneous fat layer into the very centre of attention, as addressing just the epidermis and dermis, as typically done in non-surgical aesthetic, provides limited results. Comprehensive rejuvenation requires a regenerative treatment like Eudelo HydroStructure, a treatment that targets all three skin layers for a better and more balanced outcome.

Eudelo HydroStructure is a cutting-edge, regenerative treatment that goes beyond traditional skin rejuvenation. It revitalises not only the dermis, but also supports restoration of the often overlooked subcutaneous fat tissue. Eudelo HydroStructure combines two innovative treatments that work together in concert.

The first part is an advanced skin booster that delivers concentrated hyaluronic acid (HA) and initiates a natural bio-remodelling process in the dermis. HA skin boosters work of course in a very different way to HA fillers – instead of just adding volume, skin boosters help your skin rebuild its own support structure. You’ll notice several changes as the treatment gets to work. As your skin’s natural collagen production increases, your skin will appear firmer over time, while deep hydration makes your skin look plumper and smoother. Those fine lines and crepey areas that might have been bothering you, will start to fade, and there’s a lovely natural radiance that develops.

But what makes Eudelo HydroStructure truly special is the second part of the treatment – a fat tissue restructuring skin booster. This innovative treatment works on the deepest layer of your skin, the subcutaneous fat layer I mentioned earlier. It’s quite fascinating how it works – it encourages your fat cells to regenerate and behave more youthfully. Think of it as waking up your skin’s natural support system.

When these two treatments work together (yes, they are done in the same session), something remarkable happens. They create a synergistic effect – the upper and lower layers of your skin start working in harmony again. Your facial contours become gently lifted and appear more defined, but in the most natural way – there’s zero risk of that ‘overdone’ look that nobody wants.

Now, you might be wondering about the practical aspects of the treatment. The whole process takes about 45 minutes, plus a little extra time for the numbing cream to start working (your comfort is important to us!). We recommend starting with two sessions spaced four weeks apart, and then maintenance treatments every six months to keep everything looking fresh and natural. What about recovery? Most patients find they can return to their normal daily activities on the very next day. You might notice some mild swelling and redness for a day or two, but this typically settles quickly.

The treatment is perfect if you’re noticing those first signs of ageing. Perhaps you’ve seen some loss of skin elasticity and firmness, or your facial contours aren’t quite as defined as they used to be. Many of our patients choose Eudelo HydroStructure because they want natural looking rejuvenation, but aren’t ready for fillers yet. Eudelo HydroStructure can work wonderfully alongside other treatments, too, and enhance both non-surgical and surgical aesthetic interventions.

In summary, Eudelo HydroStructure is the next level of skin boosters for facial rejuvenation, delivering an innovative approach to restoring youth and vitality by targeting multiple layers of tissue. It offers natural results that enhance your features, rather than changing them.
