Dr Elaine Agius is a fully qualified Specialist Dermatologist registered with the GMC. She was awarded a PhD in Immunology of the skin from University College London in 2009 and trained in Dermatology at the world-renowned St John’s Institute of dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London.

Dr Elaine works as a Consultant dermatologist in the NHS. She consults on general adult and paediatric dermatology with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory skin rashes, skin infections and skin cancer.

She is the recipient of 7 national and international awards for her research into the immunology of ageing skin including the prestigious Albert Kligman award, the British Society of Investigative Dermatology award in 2009, University College London best oral presentation. In 2011 she received an award from the Royal Society of Medicine for best clinical presentation. Her research work was published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Investigation both very high impact journals and she has presented her research papers to various national and international dermatological meetings. She has also co-written textbook chapters on dermatology.

Dr Elaine is a member of various leading medical associations including the British Association of Dermatologists, British Society of Investigative dermatology, Royal Society of Medicine, Medical Defense Union and General Medical Council UK.

Dr Elaine is also fluent in Maltese and Italian.
